Hi guys and girls, it's Teaser Tuesday again. Hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading, anyone can join in by doing the following:
·
Grab your current read
·
Open to a random page
·
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
· BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you
share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
·
Share the title and author too, so that other TT participants can add the
book to their To Be Read (TBR) lists if they like your teasers!
Here's my teaser:
"Self-discipline is the most essential factor in the development of personal power, because it enables you to control your appetite and your tendency to spend more than you earn and your habit of 'striking back' at those who offend you and the other destructive habits which cause you to dissipate your energies through non-productive effort that takes on forms too numerous to be catalogued in this lesson."
Taken from "The Law of Success" by Napoleon Hill. He came out with many cracking sentences like this one. Hope you enjoyed it!
Leave your teasers or a link to them in a comment...
"Didier left me, Mr Daley. Just as soon as he'd spent every centime I had to my name."
ReplyDeleteSidney Sheldon's Angel of the Dark by Tilly Bagshawe
That sure is a long sentence, but it makes a lot of sense. Sounds like a heavy read.
ReplyDeleteMy teaser is from CONFESSIONS OF A CORPORATE SLUT.
I struggle with self discipline. A lot. If I had a little more of it, I'm life would be much better!
ReplyDeleteWow, words of wisdom!

It's not a quote you can read just once! I had to go over it several times before I could take it all in. Nice teaser. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!

Oh dear. I have no self-discipline at all.
ReplyDeleteYour teaser is very deep - but makes sense :)

Sometimes non-productive time is necessary for sanity though. Here's Mine

Good teaser. Self-discipline can be difficult to cultivate. Thanks for visiting!
ReplyDeleteWow, there's a lot of information in that one sentence. I had to re-read it a couple of times and each time I unpacked something new from it. Great!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog today. Happy reading!
I was just having a discussion with a co-worker regarding self-discipline, sounds like an interesting read.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by @ http://thereadingbeauty.wordpress.com
Interesting! It's not the type of book I'd rush to pick up but it really sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteThank you Beth, Li and The Golden Eagle. Looking forward to next week..
ReplyDeleteSorry for being late to return your visit, I have been away on holidays!
ReplyDeleteI am reasonably self-disciplined, but do need to ensure that I keep myself on track by using tools to ensure my progress.
Thanks CM Brown, we all need to do some self-checks at times!
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser! Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteThis book is being sold everywhere with a lie-- that it is written by Sheldon. The author is Tilly Bagshawe. Having said that, it is a decent read, but I was disappointed by the end. It leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth.
